Astriaal – Anatomy of the Infinite

June 21st, 2010

After a nigh on seven year recording silence ASTRIAAL are now poised to return with their sophomore album entitled ‘Anatomy of the Infinite‘. This next opus will be released August 5th, 2010 in Digipack format for the southern equatorial territories via Australian label Obsidian Records, and through French label Aura Mystique with alternate artwork for the rest of the world. ‘Anatomy of the Infinite‘ along with the previous opus ‘Renascent Misanthropy‘ will also be given a long awaited vinyl release via German underground supremacists Art of Propaganda in later 2010 early 2011. ASTRIAAL are very pleased to have forged an alliance with these great and committed underground labels.

Anatomy of the Infinite‘ is strikingly different to the band’s debut full length ‘Renascent Misanthropy‘ in production, tone and song structure and resonates with a primeval, organic musicality throughout. After tracking the new album at various studios throughout Australia, ASTRIAAL travelled to Molla Lydstudios (Ulver, Aura Noir, Mayhem, Arcturus, etc) in Gjerstad, Norway to finalise the album with Knut Magne Valle (Arcturus) behind the engineers desk. Knut has previously engineered a number of significant albums from the Norwegian metal scene including Mayhem’s latest album Ordo Ad Chao.

Featuring eight tracks comprising of haunting and dissonant passages interwoven with moments of epic black metal grandeur, ‘Anatomy of the Infinite‘ will indeed satiate the needs of those ardent adherents that have been anticipating the next chapter in the ASTRIAAL sonic landscape. The reprisal looms.

Arkheth – IX & I: The Quintessence of Algaresh

March 16th, 2010

Four years in the making, from the coldest forests of Algaresh.

Symphonic Black Metal group ARKHETH are ready to unleash their sophomore album ‘IX & I: The Quintessence of Algaresh‘ [Algaresh]. Due out nationwide April 6th 2010 as the long awaited follow up to the 2003 debut ‘Hymns of a Howling Wind‘.

Representing ten of the most melancholic black metal symphonies to grace an album, Algaresh stands at titanic two hours in length. This double CD elegantly composed over a four year period while the band secluded themselves in their home town of Orange, NSW, Australia.

ARKHETH‘s concept of Algaresh provides a place the band draws unique ideas, myths and music from. This methodology keeps the context of the music highly original, well thought with a freedom of expression. Algaresh is a masterpiece of creativity on all fronts, from concept through to fruition.

This partnership culminated in the debut release ‘Hymns of a Howling Wind‘ with several more live appearences supporting this release.
